What is the issue you’re encountering

I’m confused about the two options regarding hostname and Referer. I activated the hotlink option and I would like it to work only on domains that I choose, for example Google.com The reason I don’t use ASN is to avoid certain bots. Yes, the options worked, but to avoid duplication. Which one is correct? I didn’t test it because I don’t want to have problems with Google bots when crawling the image, so I left both options.

Referer is the correct option. That’s the website where the hotlink came from.

Hostname is the domain name (your website) in the URL of the request.

I’m not sure if Googlebot requests include a referer, but you can use the Verified Bots option to double-check it’s legit.
