Hosting Company moving to new Server

Hi there,

I have a Free Hosting plan with Cloudflare.

My hosting company is moving to a new server. This means a new Server Name and IP Address.

I know i need to update the DNS A Records with new IP address in Cloudflare.

Is there anything else i need to do? Do i need to change Server Name anywhere?

Thanks
Steve

Nope, updating the DNS records should be pretty much it.

Thank you for such a quick reply Sandro!

To change DNS A Record - do i simply over-type the IP address value in the DNS Records section?

Do i need to press save, or confirm it anywhere?

Cheers
Steve

In the desktop view not AFAIK.

Thanks so much. Have a great weekend.

Hi there. Attempting to change IP now and receiving following error…

“DNS Validation Error (Code: 1004): Invalid TTL. Must be between 120 and 2,147,483,647 seconds, or 1 for automatic (Code: 9021)”

Am i doing anything wrong?

Hi ya,

I created a new A Record with new IP which worked ok. Then deleted the old one.

All sorted now.
Thanks
Steve
