Hoster > cloudflare > duckdns speed issue - very slowly

The last few days there have been performance problems.

Our DNS / homepage ist hosted by wint.global, but we are using cloudflare as DNS nameserver.
Calling the main homepage which is hosted at wint.global as well as all subdomains which are redirects to duckdns takes extremely long (up to 30s).

Are there knows issues at the moment?

thx & br

Hi @buckelbauer,

Have you tried testing with Cloudflare’s Speed tool (Observatory) or checked the request on a HAR/Chrome inspect?

How about if you do not proxy the host (grey cloud) is it better/faster?

Thank you.

Thanks for your answer… i will try to disable the proxy function.
Could you please shortly describe the difference between enabled and disabled proxy function?

Thx & BR

If you have Proxied (:orange:) records, my browser would first connect to Cloudflare, and then Cloudflare would be connecting to your web server:

Without Cloudflare, or with Unproxied (:grey:) / DNS-only records: Visitor ↔ Web server
With Proxied (:orange:) records: Visitor ↔ Cloudflare ↔ Web server

Setting Unproxied (:grey:) / DNS-only would mean you’re (at least: temporarily while keeping that status) losing the Cloudflare functionality, such as e.g. the CDN, Cache, WAF / Firewall rules, and so forth. Cloudflare will only be acting as a DNS provider in that state.
