~50 Websites configured on a webserver were working perfectly fine with their configuration and Cloudflare for the past few weeks. Suddenly, I started getting slow loading times with Cloudflare and sometimes 522 Error. The websites use origin certificates configured in separate .conf files on the server for each domain. I didn’t change anything on the server configuration before the strange behaviour.
Interestingly enough, this has happened the last 3-4 days out of the blue to many visitors of the websites. The websites on the same server configured without Cloudflare load blazingly fast without any problems.
IF I CHOOSE “DEVELOPER MODE” THE LAGG, THE ERRORS AND EVERYTHING IS GONE IN THE SAME EXACT SECOND AND THE WEBSITES ARE USABLE!
What I’ve checked on the forum:
All the recommended topics for 522,520,500 and other host-related issues.
All the SSL topics
What I’ve tried:
Checking my server logs - clear
Checking with the VPS hosting provider - no blocking of your IPs
Checking my server configuration (nothing changed during the last month)
Checking the server read/write speeds/ping etc.
Checking websites without Cloudflare on the same server = blazing fast
Clearing server cache, Cloudflare purging cache
Rebooting the services and rebooting the server
Checking the visual representation of RAM/CPU/SSD etc., only 20-30% is used.
Yes, exactly. Thank you for your answer. In fact, I did try to contact Cloudflare but the support section just redirected me to the forum. Can I please ask you to remove the image of this particular website? Because it’s supposed to be an anonymous author at this point for as long as we can keep it so, and for someone searching online this can spoil the experience. I’m just working on this project still. Thanks for your understanding!
Also, I’m aware most of the time web pages load. But first of all the loading speed is terrible (used speedtest, gtmetrix, pingdom etc.) and sometimes images are broken or it takes forever to pull them and other weird issues.
Done, but please consider things from below as far as domain is registered, website online and available and as far as domain name is shared on your screenshot from first post (thank you, that way we can check for some things):
Just please make sure one thing is clear before we continue discussion about errors happening and trying to figure out and help you for further case:
Without sharing anything, Community cannot help you a lot.
Your website is not protected by country locking or some similar Firewall Rule
Your robots meta tag and Yoast SEO plugin for WordPress helps this too
If so, I am really sorry to say, but please make sure to unindex your whole domain (check your WordPress Settings) and Website as far as your Website is already indexed and spoiled at Google without me sharing a screenshot as a proof there is no error currently from my side while testing.
Kindly, reply back to it and indicate you need more help.
Furthermore, if you have been through all suggestion from all the articles and are not seeing corresponding issues on your network/server and you have a ticket number with Cloudflare, please share the ticket number here with us so we could escalate this issue:
To enable efficient troubleshooting by support, please ensure you include the following on the ticket:
I am sorry to hear that. Kindly, may I suggest below article:
I see you are using WordPress without any caching plugin for Page Cache?, but I do see you are using WPRocket for your example website from above.
I remember there were topics about WP Rocket + Cloudflare, therefore I suggest you to look up at the below articles in that terms:
In terms of a hosting provider, quick tip: Tune-up your PHP values a bit:
Nevertheless, you could try to install some caching plugin for webpage html cache like WP Super Cache:
If you are using a paid plan, I would suggest you to try out Cloudflare APO for WordPress for a month and see the difference:
Broken in what terms? Not being loaded at all?
May I ask if you are using some “grid” or “masonry” or any effects (as a CSS or JavaScript) for them?
Despite “lazyload” JavaScript feature?
I’ve seen few topics where WPRocket had to be disabled because of this.
Or at least, disabling Rocket Loader at Cloudflare dashboard, but the issue remained.
Thank you so much for checking everything in detail! You are spot on! Absolutely right! I’m sorry for being sloppy. It’s 5:30 in the morning here. Just fixed the image. I don’t mind sharing some info, I just hope we can hide it after the resolution. The website is prepared to be indexed very soon and launched. The thing is I don’t want people to associate the website with me in any way as this can very easily lead them to the author and that could be done with a screenshot.
I’ll try to keep it behind Cloudflare for that exact reason. There are no details online leading to me so far. So I’ll have to kindly ask you once again to take down the new picture with the Google results. The same goes for the SEO line of code because the comment spoils it. If you google it, you’ll eventually reach the author through another website.
Just tested it on my phone and seems blazing fast. I’ll do more tests tomorrow and report the exact issue so others will know how to deal with it when they encounter it.
Your website is not protected by country locking or some similar Firewall Rule
Well, not that I’m aware of
I’ll try to reach you guys tomorrow in a private message. It’s just that when I tried the first time it shoots me back to the forum. I didn’t find a way to issue a ticket. I’ll include all the needed info. Thank you once again for your comprehensive and fast response!
O-oh, sorry I wanted to share a term site:yourdomain.com to check it out by entering in any search engine but picture went up -.-, didn’t saw that while pasting. Done, removed it.
Removed.
Please, and reply back with feedback information. Furthermore, have you tried transfering and testing at least one website to some other hosting provider? If not, try this too.
I have the same problem. From 3-4 days, pages load very slowly with higher traffic at different times of the day. Before that, everything was fine. In a different thread, many people write about the same issue.
