What is the error message?
Dear Cloudflare, I am a software developer. One of the APIs you protect is UDEMY. I put a “-” in a query string (because that is UDEMY’s own spec) and my entire IP has been blocklisted not only from Udemy but ALSO countless other sites because you probably share “intelligence” among your clients. This is unacceptable behavior especially because there is way to contact any support any where for alot of these products. What right do you have to block my IP without a reasonable vetting process or a workflow to get this resolved, I’d be happy to send you my personal information and prove my credibility or anything else you may require but blanket blocklisting is actually NOT good security practice certainly not at the risk of businesses being able to function. I went to check my visa status with VFS global (a completely unrelated site to Udemy) and after 2 attempts to visit a website I was given a rate limited block: "cloudflare Ray ID: 8c1ffddf0f0acd50 • Your IP: 194.120.133.40
What is the issue you’re encountering
I am randomly being blocked by ANY site that may be using cloudflare security. This is crazy, I am a software developer. I followed an API example which triggered a sql injection block from cloudflare. that means your customer udemy doesn’t know that its own API spec cannot be followed without serious consequence to the developer – as in my IP is now blocked. There’s no way to talk to their support. And cloudflare should NOT be sharing my IP with other customers and flagging me to be blocklisted – that is the perrogative of each respective client. Especially when there is NO recourse/channel any way for me to get this resolved.
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?
Tried to contact Udemy, tried to contact cloudflare. I am not entitled to support without being a paying customer? Absolutely ridiculous.
