https://champdev.me or any site which I add to my free account are getting high ping ~160-180 ms. While accessing through India, it should be served from any of Data centres in India but it is being routed to France and served from there.
Here is an example:
Any other site like
is also having same issue.
This issue basically contradicts of using Cloudflare. I was getting ~15ms previously but now its 170.
This is a common issue when accessing Cloudflare-protected sites from India and is caused by poor ISP peering.
Why don’t I reach the closest datacenter to me?
Cloudflare is an anycast network, so where you are routed is determined by peering with ISPs. The shortest path geographically isn’t always possible due to peering agreements.
If you request a site hosted on Cloudflare from home:
The domain resolves to a Cloudflare IP
Your browser sends an HTTP request to that IP
Your ISP’s routers consult their routing table and route the packets upstream to their transit provider ( COSTS MONEY )
The packets …
The only thing you can do to fix this is to upgrade your zone plan. Alternatively, enabling Argo Smart Routing should also resolve the issue.
