Help - My domain is not connected to my host. My host advised me to:
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?
My domain is not connected to my host. My host advised me to:
contact your DNS server provider (Cloudflare) and ask them to guide you in adding the DNS records below:
I can list these records later if required
However, I am concerned and confused why this has happened as my domain was with the hosting company for years with no issue now I have issues with my domain email and the host says Cloudflare should resolve it. I have never used Cloudflare for anything so why has this happened and how do I resolve it? please assist me
What feature, service or problem is this related to?
If that was not you, you should add the site to the account you are using here, contact your domain registrar and (ask them who changed the ns a year ago) ask them to change the nameserver to the two that will be shown on this page of your cloudflare dash, https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/:zone/dns and remove the other nameservers that are currently set.
adding the site to your account will not instantly fix the email issues and you’ll need to edit other DNS records once you add the site to your account.
If it’s been a year and you are just now noticing the site is using cloudflare, you may want to verify that one of your site vendors did not do this on your behalf.
Thank you for a quick reply. You mentioned: change the nameserver to the two that will be shown on this page of your cloudflare dash, https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/:zone/dns and remove the other nameservers that are currently set.
I only signed up to Cloudflare today as I could not query the issue without signing up to Cloudflare. so my domain is not added to my account
Says: Enter domain This process sets up your web traffic to [proxy through Cloudflare]. Proxying speeds up and protects websites and services served by this domain.
Cloudflare will become the primary [DNS provider] for this [domain] meaning your [DNS records]are managed at Cloudflare, and we authoritatively answer all DNS queries.
If I am trying to not use Cloudflare then why should I add my domain to Cloudflare?
At the moment, your site is using Cloudflare. If you just want to boot those folks off your domain, you can add it to your cloudflare account. If you’d prefer to not use cloudflare, ask your registrar to revert the nameservers to whatever they use for default nameservers. You’ll need to contact your email provider and determine how to get your email working again.
