Just started to register a domain using CF.
I see the disclosure that I must use CF Nameservers.
It sounds scary, but I understand the logic, an at-cost domreg must use the CF NS, less support costs, and maybe you’ll buy more stuff from CF.
… but I don’t understand why someone would want to use nameservers from somewhere else? isn’t CF supposed to be the best?
Most people who post here about wanting to change nameservers on a domain registration that was purchased from Cloudflare registrar are following directions written by their hosting provider. Those directions often suggest using the host’s nameservers for the reason that you mentioned.
Those looking to use other nameservers typically have either minimal or no experience with creating DNS records and are relying on the guide provided by their host.
