What is the issue you’re encountering

Family member cannot send emails from account on domain fritidscenteret.dk

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

My family member has had an email routed through fritidscenteret.dk for years, the website is provided by Punktum dk A/S and I have attempted to contact them, they told me to contact cloudflare, so here I am.

The problem is this email is no longer able to send new emails
I am not able to further able to diagnose the problem.

How do I go about restoring my family members access to send emails from his email on fritidscenteret.dk

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

You would first need to find out what company he uses to send emails. Cloudflare does not offer such a service.

Does the website come with email service?

It seems the domain you mentioned never had an MX record, so receiving emails would not have been possible. It also never had a txt record, so it is unlikely (not impossible) any email sending service has ever been set up.

What SMTP server has your family member configured in their email software?

Hey Laudian and thank you for your reply!
I should explain my background is in computer science, so I’m a bit out of my depth here.
My approach so far has been to look up the email address on whois which informed me that the site is ran by a danish developper called punktum.dk
I contacted them about the email problem and they informed me it was cloudflares problem.

The email has been able to send emails before, it can now only receive them.

I don’t know what an MX or txt record is.
I don’t have access to my family members computer to check their SMTP server settings currently.

To me it looks like the provider of the website (punktum.dk) have misled me, if cloudflare has nothing to do with the email service.

DNS records in their simplest form resolve the domain to IP addresses.

The MX record specifically tells programs where to send emails for the domain. And this domain never had an MX record, which you can see here:

I’ve just tried sending an email to that domain, and it did not work. Are you sure that you can send emails to that address?
