Hi! We were authenticating a client’s sending domain on ActiveCampaign and a prompt required us to connect the client’s Cloudflare account to ActiveCampaign. When we did, it kept saying that we did not have access to edit the domain. Then we received a notification that the domain got removed from the account. When we tried re-adding it, the DNS records were not pulled along with the domain. Is there a way to restore the DNS records without setting it up manually? Since we’re not sure what the exact records set up were and we do not want to cause any service interruptions. We know that previously, the domain has been hosted on Cloudflare, just not which account.
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?
We tried submitting a case but have not heard back.
You can try to recover access to the orignal account using this guide…
If that doesn’t work, you’ll need to locate the DNS records from your web and mail hosts and enter them into the new account you are adding the domain to. You will need to ensure you set the new allocated nameservers at your registrar.
Hi! I’m actually not sure which account originally had the domain. All I know is that the client received an email that the domain was removed from her account after the attempt to connect with ActiveCampaign. Is there no way to at least get the DNS records from Cloudflare?
Did you follow the guide? If you log out of the dashboard and select “Forgot your email” and enter the domain, an email will be sent to the account holder where the domain is active.
Cloudflare will not give you any information about an account that you can’t log in to for security reasons.
Follow up question on this one. We re-added the DNS records based on the DNS from DNS checker, but keep getting an Error 1000. From the DNS checker, there are two A records that point to Cloudflare, so we added both, but it doesn’t seem to be working. Where should I check to find the IP addresses for the A records?
