Handle traffic spikes

Hi community!

I run a site on a VPS with 8 CPU cores, 32GB RAM, NGINX (no caching server side), CentOS8, MariaDB 10+ and WP Rocket connected with Cloudflare Pro plan.

The website: https://parra.nu/ has traffic spikes going from 300 realtime to 3k in a short amount of time. What is the best solution to handle these spikes? Don’t wan’t any internal server errors again haha!

If you’re already letting Cloudflare cache everything that can be cached, and if the traffic is human traffic then there’s nothing you can really do except for optimize your own application.

Yes I have cache everything except wp/admin. And yes human traffic.

Then I suggest you use a load testing tool like Jmeter against your site (using your origin ip), and find out what needs to be optimized
