GoDaddy Shortener Secure Server Error

Is it mandatory for a website to support Https before registering on cloudfare ?

I am getting error -
I read other posts which talks about supporting https on host server and my website does not support it yet.

During cloudfare registration i chose , Your SSL/TLS encryption mode is Off (not secure)

Only if you want your site to be secure.

Thanks @sdayman for quick repsonse. I am ok as of now without https.

I got an email “Status Active” , but i still see Shoertener Secure Server Error.

Do i need to add Domain Forwarding on GoDaddy ?

You shouldn’t have to do anything at GoDaddy. If it was working as an HTTP site (not HTTPS), then your SSL/TLS (Off) setting should be fine.

You haven’t posted a domain name, so it’s difficult to check what’s going on. But if it says “Secure server error”, then it would make me think that you’re trying to connect with HTTPS, which you don’t have. You can set up a Page Rule here to automatically redirect back to http:

Match https://* and set a Forwarding URL (301) of$2

The first * will match ‘www’ or just the domain name, and the second * will match the path. The $2 will forward the second * to the new URL path.

Thanks @sdayman , setting up Page Rule worked !!

It was working when i typed in browser but it failed on removing www.

Adding Page rule solved it.
