Godaddy > cloudflare lost DB access

Hello everyone! I am using godaddy shared hosting on my domain and everything works good on their nameservers, but I want that free SSL… lol. Anyways, I tried two weeks ago for the SSL and I lost connection to the DB, I contacted GoDaddy support and they said it was probably because I had set custom nameservers. So, I reverted back to their nameservers and my DB could connect again (none of the code changed). Anyways, today I tried the Cloudflare nameservers again because they emailed me to tell me they were gonna cancel my account. Everything says it worked, but I still cannot connect to my database. My pages with DB connection load very slowly and I get this error: Connection failed: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2003] Can't connect to MySQL server on 'omitted' (101) … So now it’s clear to me that it is in fact the nameservers that disrupt this. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I would love to use the added security and speed! thank you!

You are getting a ERR_CONNECTION_RESET right?

If so, follow the article below to fix the issue

Good hosts provide this. Give this a try:
https://developers.cloudflare.com/ssl/origin-configuration/origin-ca

Try configuring your site to connect to the IP address of the database server instead.

Turns out I had to set my host to the IP, not the url. Thank you again for the help!
