Godaddy blocks SSL

Just wanted to add my voice to the chorus of users experiencing this 522 error with GoDaddy as of this morning. I spent an hour on the phone with support that led to me pausing Cloudflare for the time being.

@user3751 thank you for the insight, I’ll try to give them a call back shortly.

So, bad news. I called in and 22 minutes later, there’s still no resolution. I sent them a link to this forum and they basically said that the onus is on Cloudflare.

If anyone has any more ideas that don’t result in buying an SSL from GoDaddy, I’d love to hear it! That’s not really within my budget right now, sadly.

SSL? The issue at had does not seem to be SSL related at all.The way it seems it would appear your host made some changes which prevent a network connection and only they can fix it.

GoDaddy Managed Wordpress doesn’t play nice with Cloudflare - it took several days to get all the kinks worked out and it would solve several recurring issues if I moved away from Cloudflare entirely. Part of me suspects that GoDaddy has made these changes on purpose.

Without SSL active on my site, my Google rankings will drop which ultimately means a loss in revenue. Bad news all around.

Again, SSL is not involved. Godaddy needs to make sure they fix their network configuration.

SSL is involved for me. It’s the main reason I use Cloudflare and without CF being active on my site, neither is SSL.

Then you have a different issue and it should be moved to another thread.

I’m experiencing the same 522 error as the OP and I have GoDaddy hosting, so no, I am in the right place. Thanks.

The original issue was not about SSL, but about a basic network connection failing.

Whats your domain?

@sandro this was entirely unnecessary, as you do not have a complete grasp of the situation at hand.

The thread you posted in was not about SSL, as is your issue.

NO, IT WAS NOT. I made a comment asking for additional help on the issue because of my secondary concerns, but I am experiencing the same issue as two others in the thread.

What was not? You said yourself your issue is SSL related.

Anyhow, what is your domain?

NO, I DID NOT. My secondary concerns are SSL related, as that is what I primarily use Cloudflare for.

To repeat my original post:

Just wanted to add my voice to the chorus of users experiencing this 522 error with GoDaddy as of this morning. I spent an hour on the phone with support that led to me pausing Cloudflare for the time being…

I will not engage in any conversation with you any further.

May I quote you?

Anyhow, the issue is something you need to take up with your host. This is nothing the community here or Cloudflare can help you with.
