Gmail MX records won't verify

Hello! I have set up the Google Workspace MX records in Cloudflare, but, when I click to active I get the following error:

“We’re currently unable to verify your domain or set up your email. You might need to wait longer for your domain host to update your information. If that doesn’t happen soon, try verifying and setting up email again.”

I have been messing with this for about a week now, deleting and re-adding the MX records, but can’t seem to get it to verify. I’ve also searched through the community and can’t seem to find any solution.

Any suggestions?

Here is the error screen. It shows the MX records are added, but won’t verify still.

The status shows as ‘added’ so I imagine you should click retry and it should work - everything looks fine there and https://dnsviz.net/d/gather-n-give.org/dnssec/ looks good as well.

I have click “retry” about 50 times now, and it still won’t verify. I can’t figure out why it is stuck.

Hmm, my only recommendation would be to go to https://www.google.com/webmasters/verification/home?hl=en and verify it there. When I try to add a [random] domain to my existing Workspace org, it redirects me here first to verify ownership, and here you can verify ownership by adding a different DNS record. If it asks you to add a CNAME, you should do it ‘DNS only’, not proxied.

It’s verified through Webmaster as well. I even set up both the TXT and CNAME just to make sure that isn’t what it was. But for whatever reason, Google still won’t complete the verification so I can activate Google Workspace (G Suite for Nonprofits to be specific).

I tried clicking “Retry Activation” a couple more times after verifying with Webmaster, and suddenly it decided to work!

Weird, but glad it worked! If you start experiencing DDOS attacks on your website, you might want to look into Cloudflare’s Project Galileo which offers enterprise-grade DDOS protection to public interest organizations at risk.

I am having the same issue. All MX records are correct and showing they have been added, but I’m still getting this error:

“We’re currently unable to verify your domain or set up your email. You might need to wait longer for your domain host to update your information. If that doesn’t happen soon, try verifying and setting up email again.”

I have searched other threads, but none of them have the same issue or a solution.
