Full (Strict) SSL/TLS and Websockets

I have a websocket server that goes through Cloudflare, do i use an “Origin Server” certificate made in Cloudflare or do i use any certificate?

EDIT: In SSL/TLS settings i have set “Full (Strict)”.

Thank you for asking.

May I ask do you experience some error or?

Furthermore, I’d suggest to:

  1. Use a valid SSL certificate for your domain(s) at your origin host/server, or use generate and use Cloudflare Origin CA certificate
  2. If so, make sure SSL/TLS option is set to Full (Strict) SSL
  3. Check and enable WebSockets at Cloudflare dashboard
  4. Use WSS in your web app for WebSocket connections
  5. Use one of the supported and compatible ports with Cloudflare proxy :orange: mode

Other options, like using SSL certificate which is not valid, or rather self-signed and “Full” instead of “Full Strict” or “Flexible”, or even “Flexible” and WS (instead of WSS) might cause some issues

Thanks, so websockets work like regular websites and they don’t work differently.
