You mean Storage? Where does it say that?

You would need to pay for storage in order to upload, starting at $5 per month. From the document you linked to:

The Paid plan allows transformations, as well as access to storage in Images.

What if i just want storage and have images served by cdn, no transformation. There is no free option for this?

For the Images product, NO, there’s no option for free storage. From the documentation: https://developers.cloudflare.com/images/pricing/#images-stored

Images Stored

Storage in Images is available only with an Images Paid plan. You can purchase storage in increments of $5 for every 100,000 images stored per month.

But if you don’t want any sort of transformations on the images, then Cloudflare’s R2 object storage product may serve your needs and has a free tier: https://developers.cloudflare.com/r2/pricing/#free-tier

i looked at r2 but requires to make them public, but my domain is not owned by coudflare so seems like my only option to make those links public is using R2.dev subdomain which is not recommended for production.

i would like to use r2 but can i do this if my domain is owned somewhere else?

i’m using imgbb but looking to move away.

any suggestions?

Your domain doesn’t need to be “owned” by or registered with Cloudflare, but Cloudflare should be the authoritative DNS provider.

Since you’re already using Cloudflare Images, then your domain is already set up and ready to use R2 with a custom (sub)domain.
