Fraudulent advertising of chat support

Feedback

This is absolutely outrageous, I upgraded my account, am trying to gain access to chat support for a serious issue, and not a single drop down allows me to engage the chat. That’s fraud as far as I’m concerned. I need real support. We’ll be taking our business elsewhere immediately upon restoring the issue. I don’t want to public post every detail to a community form… Is this company some kind of bait and switch?

Chat is available at least on the Business plan type. May I ask if you’ve upgraded to the Business plan type?

I am afraid it is not.
We have it at least as well as other customers:

If you’ve lately upgraded, you might have to logout and login back

Furthermore, may I ask if you do see the Chat Buuble in the bottom right corner of the Cloudflare dashboard for your Cloudflare account?
Have you tried using a different Web browser or Incognito mode?

Helpful article for chat support:

@kyle42 I can see the Chat option in the lower right of your dashboard, if you do not, log out and back in and/or try incognito mode or a different browser.

The BIZ zone that you upgraded to access chat is not active in your account at the moment, I do see it’s active in another Cloudflare account. You can check this if you go to https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/:zone/dns and the nameservers at the bottom are not

chris.ns.cloudflare.com
marjory.ns.cloudflare.com

that means you are not in the account that holds the active domain. If you create a free securitytrails account you can see when the nameservers changed and first starting showing up at their current setting, https://securitytrails.com/domain/example.com/history/ns (after creating a free securitytrails account and logging in, replace my example.com example with the name of your domain to see the details for the domain pending in the account you are using here).

It could be you added the domain a while ago using a different email, you can try to find those details using one of these links, I suspect the second one is where you should start and then check any email address you may have used around the time securitytrails shows the nameservers first showing up.

The only way you’ll be able to regain access is by having access to the email address of the account. These links may help, but they only work when logged out

  1. If you know the email: https://dash.cloudflare.com/forgot-password
  2. If you don’t know the email: https://dash.cloudflare.com/forgot-email
  3. If you know the email and have 2FA issues, follow the process here: Two-factor authentication · Cloudflare Fundamentals docs

Finally, if you are unable to successfully add the domain that is now pending in your account, you should cancel the BIZ plan to avoid the charges. Once you cancel, it will go into a delayed downgrade until the end of the period for which you were already charged.
