Forwarding URL (patent.uk)

What is the name of the domain?

patent.uk

What is the error message?

Safari Can’t Find the Server

What is the issue you’re encountering

I have set up a Forwarding URL on one domain patent (.co.uk) which works as expected. I replicated the settings on another domain patent (.uk) and it doesn’t work. (Sorry, Cloudflare won’t let me write the domains as full domains for some reason.)

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

I have checked both sets of settings against each other. I have deleted the Forwarding URL on the domain that doesn’t work and have set it up again.

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

Visit both domains.

You have not created any DNS records for patent.uk - you need a proxied DNS record for Redirect Rules to work.

You can create an AAAA record with value 100::

Hello Laudian.

Thanks again so much for your help with this.

I’ve got it working perfectly when I use ‘patent(.uk)’ in the address bar, but I get an error when I use ‘www.patent(.uk)’. Do you know what might be causing this? [Please ignore the brackets in the domain names - this forum won’t let me include more than four URLs in a message!]

In the Page Rules, I gave the URL to be forwarded as the following, which I assumed would account for the ‘www’ at the start: patent.uk/

For the patent(.co.uk) domain, I used patent.co.uk/ in the Page Rules and that redirects correctly for both patent(.co.uk) and www.patent(.co.uk)

You have not created a DNS record for the www subdomain yet.

Thank you. I added a CNAME record in the same format as that for patent(.co.uk) and that now seems to be working. Thanks again very much for your brilliant help!
