Forwarding Traffic to another domain if the server is down

Hello,

Can I automatically forward the traffic from my site example1.com to another domain (example2.com), in case my server is down?

I Will highly appreciate your responses.

I couldn’t figure it out by myself.

Thank you all for your help.

This isn’t something you can do with Cloudflare dashboard settings. Do you have “Always Online” enabled for that domain in the Caching section?

Yes, it’s enabled. What can I do? Thank you.

In that case, should that domain go down, Cloudflare should show a cached version of the URL (most likely, if it’s the main page), letting the user know it’s temporarily down.

That’s all you can do with standard settings. Beyond that, you’d need a Javascript developer to write a program in Cloudflare Workers that would handle this, but that would get run for every single request and could get expensive if you have a busy site.

Thank you for your response.

Another thing I had in mind, is to define a page rule to forward my traffic to another domain. I will manually turn the rule on if my site will go down.

Very primitive, yet I assume it will work.

Thank you very much.
