Forward old domain to new domain - do I still need A-records?

What is the name of the domain?

penprobate.com’ is to be replaced by ‘probaterealestateadvisor.com

What is the error message?

Error connection timed out

What is the issue you’re encountering

When typing in the olddomain it does not go to newdomain

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

A webservice provider host the website for me so I added all the IP addresses for *, url, and www, and it goes to the webhost serviceprovider.
I went to ‘olddomain.com’ and removed all A-records and created a URL forwarding rule. All it says is “This site can’t be reached” and “DNS_probe_possible”. Do I still need A-records when I use a forwarding rule?

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

DNS records

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

type in the url

Screenshot of the error

Yes. Otherwise visitor traffic will not reach the Cloudflare proxy and the redirect.

You can create one :orange: proxied AAAA record of 100:: for each name that has a corresponding redirect rule.

Thanks man! Wauv, that was fast!
I created the AAAA rule and it also suggested to create an AAAA for www so I did that as well.
I can now reach the new domain.

thanks!!!
