My SMTP server is hosted by Google. Incoming and outgoing mail work fine, but I am getting Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner error in MxToolbox which is preventing email verification working.
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

The SMTP Banner is configured by the organisation that operates the mail server, e.g. Google in this specific case.
Therefore you will need to contact your email provider (Google), if you have any concerns regarding their set up.
The mismatch does NOT prevent anything from working, and CAN safely be ignored.
PTR records are created by the organisation holding the IP address space, e.g. your hosting provider, and you will therefore need to contact them for further assistance regarding this.
If you are sending your emails out through Google, you shouldn’t worry at all, as it would then be Google that takes care of maintaining the PTR records for their mail servers.
