Our site is offline but that is only the second problem. The first one is/was that we couldn’t see pictures on the site and were not able to login to our Wordpress account to update the pics or the right path to the pics. Suddenly our Wordpress account logins did not work. We tried Wordpress support but without an account we couldn’t register a ticket. Our ICT service provider said we should contact Cloudflare.
Your domain is indeed using Cloudflare. But Cloudflare cannot be used to host a WordPress site… so there’s definitely another provider involved that is hosting the WordPress site, and Cloudflare is only being used to secure and optimize the site.
The error message showing on the site indicates there’s some sort of problem at the “origin” server where the WordPress site is hosted. But what exactly?
The standard troubleshooting procedure involves temporarily pausing Cloudflare so that the request goes directly to the WordPress hosting provider. This will then expose any problems over there so you can deal with them, before turning Cloudflare back on.
But, of course, that requires access to the Cloudflare account the site is under. Try reaching out to whoever set up Cloudflare for your site if you can.
If that’s not an option, first go to the domain’s Registrar (that’s not Cloudflare) and point the nameservers to your WordPress hosting provider’s nameservers. With the domain disconnected from Cloudflare, check and fix any issues with the site.
Then, if you want to continue to benefit from Cloudflare protection and CDN services, add the site to your own Cloudflare account – the new one you just created. See: Add a site | Cloudflare Fundamentals docs
NB: I don’t know what “WordPress” you went to, but note that WordPress.ORG only builds the WordPress software, but does not offer hosting service and cannot be the ones hosting your website. Your WordPress site may be hosted with any hosting provider, including WordPress.COM. Obviously, if your WordPress site is not hosted with WordPress.com, they can’t help you in any way. Do you know who is hosting your site?
