Firewall: Block all, but allow email?

If I block a country via Firewall (e.g. Netherlands), would that prevent me from receiving any mail originating in the Netherlands - or only if the mail server would also be running on Cloudflare?

I currently only use my MX records to point to an external mail server and now I am wondering whether I have to set up special Firewall exclusions for that fact (or are DNS requests not blocked by the firewall anyways?).

I pretty much don’t want any traffic from country X, but I wouldn’t mind receiving a mail from that country - does that make sense?

Firewall Rules only covers HTTP/HTTPS requests, so wont affect your mail traffic.
