Absolute insanity that this still isn’t supported.
Started onboarding clients to utilise Cloudflare services to now find that I can’t transfer domains to and from clients?!
And your “interim” solution (interim apparently meaning like 3+ years?) is to transfer the domain out of Cloudflare, presumbly to a competitor, and then back in again - which according to the comments above could take up to 120 days.

I am not entirely sure about this venting. The implementation might not be ideal, but if I am not happy with a particular service provider, I will simply go to mentioned competition. It’s not like there’s a lack of registrars.
For folks looking to transfer a Cloudflare Registrar domain between Cloudflare accounts, it looks like it is now possible to do it via a somewhat manual process with support (they’ll need a ticket from your account and a ticket from the target account, both confirming the transfer, based on what I was asked for – it’ll be treated as a new zone in the target account, no settings transfer, just the registration).
It would also seem that a self-serve version of this may actually be in the works, which is great to finally see.

I am surprised that this isn’t here yet, transferring the domain out of Cloudflare is the only solution (one customer less, or maybe more?)
+1 for this… kinda feels crazy it’s not a thing
I just went to “Support” in Cloudflare and they have a workflow to support this exact scenario. Still requires support engagement, but an improvement.
