Far away datacenter used

I’m located in Dubai

If I do a tracert to my last hop is which is located in Dubai which is good

However i’m using “dnscrypt proxy” and when i run dnscrypt-proxy -resolve example.com
I get this result, with resolver IP ; why is it using a Japanese server?

C:\dnscrypt>dnscrypt-proxy -resolve example.com
Resolving [example.com]

Domain exists: yes, 2 name servers found
Canonical name: example.com.
IP addresses: 2606:2800:220:1:248:1893:25c8:1946,
TXT records: v=spf1 -all
Resolver IP: seems to be located in Japan which also is confirmed with a ping of >150ms

Any idea why/how dnscrypt would not pick the closest server?

also is saying I’m using the Dubai datacenter which doesn’t match the output from the dnscrypt resolve

That is a Cloudflare IP address. Cloudflare runs anycast network. A given IP address is generally advertised out of hundreds of our datacenters at the same time.
