Darn it, I don’t see how to edit this. I didn’t mention a couple of things:
I registered the URL a while ago, and don’t know if there’s was something I was supposed to do at that point that I maybe didn’t do…a DNS setting? This is not my wheelhouse!
I set it up as a Temp redirect. I’m not sure if that detail is important.
Thanks for your help!
Hi - I was just adding a note while you were posting… Thanks for your reply but I don’t know what it means. Can you direct me to some instructions “For Dummies”?
thanks for that, and I did the first step, but I am lost on the Rules, starting at step 4. There are many options on the page that aren’t specifically mentioned in the instructions - I am very ADHD, so easily overwhelmed and this is all in language that I don’t understand at all. I really appreciate your help, but I really do need the “for Dummies” version! … Also, I don’t know what happens if I make mistakes here…
I’m so grateful you are here - it looked like there was a lot more to it than what I had done already in the Redirect Rule settings… but anyway, it’s still not working. Is it a matter of waiting a while, or can you see if I did something wrong? (I can only add one piece of media because I am a new user… )
To be complete, you may want to create a DNS record for your domain (@ AAAA 100::) as well and change your Page Rule URL to *caminocreativitypathway.com/* so both caminocreativitypathway.com and www.caminocreativitypathway.com redirect.
Again, not sure what this means - I followed the directions that were given…where does this apply? I recall seeing “www” as the entry in one of the steps, and I typed it in dutifully!
You did fine with the www name. Its redirect is working. If you want the plain domain name without www to redirect, you need to add a similar AAAA DNS record for the name @ and update the URL in your page rule as indicated in the previous reply from @sjr .
Well it’s working sporadically. Was fine when I tried in incognito mode, but my daughter tried on her phone and got CF error page that connection timed out.
I only get the 522 error when using your naked domain. It occurs every time using that name. The redirect consistently works correctly when using the www name.
Did you adjust the Page Rule as describe above (and below) after adding the proxied AAAA record of 100:: for the @ name?
