"Failed to set referrer policy" - error message - clickwowdesigns.com

ssl

#1

I have Hostgator and a Wordpress Pagelines site. I installed SSL with the plug-ins: Really Simple SSL and Velvet Blues. I edited all the mixed content. My site is secure, but not perfect yet. Chrome gives me this error message:

Failed to set referrer policy: The value ‘’ is not one of ‘no-referrer’, ‘no-referrer-when-downgrade’, ‘origin’, ‘origin-when-cross-origin’, ‘same-origin’, ‘strict-origin’, ‘strict-origin-when-cross-origin’, or ‘unsafe-url’. The referrer policy has been left unchanged.

I get this message when I click each menu item in my nav bar.

Could anyone help me resolve this issue?

Thank you,

SY

Hi @wasabikino, bumping this to get some other input as I’m not a wordpress expert at all! I wanted to revisit your question as it seems familiar. I did see a tip on another forum to edit .htaccess. What’s in the file will vary, but if you can edit .htaccess file and change the following:

Header set Referrer-Policy ""

to

Header set Referrer-Policy "origin"

Please let us know how it works out.

Hi Tim:

Success! Per your suggestion, I updated the .htaccess file and no longer get the Google Chrome error message.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for your help and attention to my ssl issues.

Let your boss know that I greatly appreciate your customer service!!!

CloudFlare is awesome!

Thanks once again, Sheri Yee
