Ezoic DNS + Cloudflare for saas subdomain, can't resolve cname

Here is the breakdown:

  • site is a wordpress instance with DNS managed by ezoic (Cloudflare for saas in the background)
  • CNAME subdomain points to a host that is ALSO Cloudflare for saas (teachable)

subdomain refuses to resolve or correctly use the SSL issued - I am guessing because there is some priority in place in the background with Cloudflare that
is not allowing the teachable side to resolve.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this?
