Every few days: error 1000 - points to prohibited IP

Hi

I am wondering whether other users also experience this problem:
We have every few days the webiste not reachable and users see “error 1000 - points to prohibited IP”

Important to know:

  • I read the related guides and help posts, it does not solve the problem
  • It occurs every few days, we dont change anyhting in the DNS Settings or Hosting Settings, therefore it is completely erratic
  • Cloudflare support is not able to help, cloudflare does not log details

The problem: Since it happens only a few minutes, it is just coincidence when we know about it. However, we run marketing campaigns on our page and it is obviously a problem when users see such an error, and we dont know about it.

Did anybody else experience the same? Do you have an idea what the problem could be?

Can you go to https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/audit-log and check if there are any recent changes made to your records?

Do you use any tools that manage your DNS records for you?

This often happens when the target IP address of a CNAME record fails to resolve. Is this a CNAME record and do you control the target of that record?
