Error TLS handshake with edge error: read tcp 10.10.41.50:59594->198.41.200.233:7844: wsarecv: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host

Anyone seen this error with Argo Tunnel?

error TLS handshake with edge error: read tcp 10.10.41.50:59594->198.41.200.233:7844: wsarecv: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host

We have verified with powershell that we can connect on port 7844…

You might need to contact Cloudflare Support.

Hey @dgordon1

We have never seen wsarecv error on Argo tunnels

Are you running on Docker? this might be related to something like?:

We are not using Docker. Its a Windows Server 2019 VM in Azure. Sounds like a mislabeled error in the logs. It would be great to know what would cause the log to generate that error, that would likely help us track down the issue.

How often is this error happening?
Is there any user-visible problem, like not being able to reach out to the origin?

I’m asking this because this is a typical network-level error that is expected, e.g. when the Cloudflare machine to which cloudflared is connected is restarted, or if the routing path to it changes and anycast now sends you elsewhere.

That’s why cloudflared establishes 4 connections to 2 different anycast regions, such that it is extremely unlikely that ocasional errors like this one cause the origin to be fully unavailable.
