Error 9524 image could not be resized (200)

For Workes & Pages, what is the name of the domain?

example.com

What is the error number?

9524

What is the error message?

image could not be resized (200)

What is the issue or error you’re encountering

Not able to Transform an image via URL

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

Hi,

I’m trying to use image transformations via URL on one of my zones but ending up with “Error 9524: image could not be resized (200)”

I tried it with a different zone and it worked, but as soon as I enabled another zone, both started to return the error.

This seems to be an issue on Cloudflare’s side.

Any advice? THX

May I ask for the example of the URL or how did you done it? Via HTTP request, or API?

Kindly, could you please cross-check and share your URL example in in bracketed dot [.] notation (https://example[dot]com/image.jpg?query_parameters_here) in your next reply here so we could double-check, troubleshoot and provide some more feedback information about the issue?

So you’re using this on two domains, both having it enabled? And it’s not a case where on one of them you’ve enabled and allowed to resize from other origins?

@fritex

As this is public, I won’t share the real urls but I’m basically trying to use a simple URL transformation:

https://{MY_CF_DOMAIN}/cdn-cgi/image/width=200,height=200/https://placehold.co/600x600.jpeg

NOTES:

  • Image Transformation is only enabled on one zone (it should be possible to enable multiple)
  • “Resize from any origin” is enabled
  • There are no workers on that account

Thank you for feedback.

Agree, correct :+1:

Following the above URL with notes, resize from any origin and Image Transformation enabled on my zone, despite I’ve got Woerkers enabled and using on that account, I can say it’s working normally for my case at least.

Strange it doesn’t for your case then

Well, I wouldn’t be writing here if it did …

The only difference between a working account and this one is that it has the “Images Basic Base” plan enabled. Does this interfere with “Image Transformations”? I guess it shouldn’t and I couldn’t find anything in the docs that you can’t use both.

To use Image Transformations feature, an Images plan should be purchased.
I do have Subscription and then have enabled Transofmrations for the particular zone.

Dd you see this enabled already for your zone, or not yet, once you navigate to the https://dash.cloudflare.com/?to=/:account/images/delivery-zones?

At least the Free plan type, therefrom you enable Image Transformations for your zone:

From the Troubleshooting about your error 9524, since you’re not using Worker, does Pages have something to do with it, otherwise missing at least Free plan?

From the Troubleshooting about your error 9524, since you’re not using Worker, does Pages have something to do with it, otherwise missing at least Free plan?

The Troubleshooting does not apply for this issue. No workers present and using workers give me event stranger issues … (getting a 200 from the resize fetch but it serves the origin un-transformed image).

I have the “Image Basic Base” plan enabled which somehow changes the menu and removes the “Plans” item from the left.

I’m experiencing the same issue. After I enabled the workers for transformation, the image transformation via URL of my zone got corrupted, even if I turned off all the workers and re-enable the transformations for the zone.

Having the same issue and getting Error 9524: image could not be resized (200) after activating the PAYG plan for Images Transformation.

@flikteoh @taivc thanks for sharing
FYI: I already contacted support two days ago but haven’t gotten any resolution back yet.

I have the same problem

HTTP 307 and Error 9524: image could not be resized (200)
from same domain images

HTTP 500 and Error 9524: image could not be resized (200)
for images from another domains (and Yes, “Resize from any origin” is enabled)

No workers, …

I have the same issue here, but I receive a redirect to the original image.

Status Code: 307 Temporary Redirect

I don’t use workers or Pages. My transformations stopped two days ago. I’ve asked support but received no response. I added the Image plan and was charged twice; support did not address this issue either.

You’ve got the ticket numer to share here with us please? So I could notify the team about these cases lately

May I ask if you’ve tried contacting Contacting Cloudflare Support about this as well?

For Workes & Pages, what is the name of the domain?

thehandbook.com

What is the error number?

307 redirect

What is the issue or error you’re encountering

Resize URLs are getting 307 redirected to original image

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

Visit image resize url: https://www.thehandbook.com/cdn-cgi/image/width=300,height=300,fit=cover,q=80,format=webp/https://files.thehandbook.com/uploads/2022/12/red-lip-season-scaled.jpg

I was redirecte to your main domain

Furthermore, I get the Error 9524: image could not be resized (200) once I try over your domain with some other example image where source is not a part of your main domain (maybe because resizing from other origin isn’t enabled).

May I ask if files.thehandbook.com is an R2 bucket of WordPress or?

Are Workers & Pages enabled?

Getting the same issue here.

I am afraid there is an incident with Image Transformations, we’d have to be patient and wait for a fix:

@fritex this is the request number I got: 01266828

I’m on a Pro Plan with this account, so unfortunately the support is limited… does anyone have a higher Plan and submitted an issue?

files.thehandbook.com is an S3 bucket proxied through Cloudflare

We have business plan for mapotic.com

I submitted a problem two days ago, had a few chats with support and nothing happened.
Just “Dear customer, you will have to wait for our team to resolve this issue…”
