Error 503 and 500 on domain

My website has been down for the past 24+ hours. I cannot access the website nor can I sign into my dashboard. Please help!

Run the trace command as suggested in the error

  1. Open the Network Utility application.
  2. Click the Traceroute tab.
  3. Type the domain or IP address in the appropriate input field and press Trace .
  4. You can copy the results to save in a file or paste in another program.

I get a 521 on and was getting a bluehost place holder page (as if there was no site content to be loaded) on although now I am getting a 521. I’d contact bluehost and find out what’s going on with your origin server, 521 and 503 both indicate some origin issue.

Did you make any changes on your site just before it stopped working?

I had contacted bluehost and they had said it was because when I saw the 521 error yesterday when I tried to access my webpage, I clicked “pause my site on cloudflare” and then imediately re-activated it, so now the DNS propagation takes up to 48 hours. Is that correct?

That only takes 5 minutes to take effect.

oh dear! sdayman, any suggestions for how to troubleshoot?

You should leave it paused (plus the five minute wait) until you can confirm that the site is fully functional with HTTPS before your re-activate it.

@sdayman do you know how long usually I need to pause it until I can confirm the site is fully functional? Sorry if it’s a dumb question as I am completely clueless about all of this…so when I reactivate do I just click on the re-activate button?

@sdayman I paused cloudflare and now the site is fully function with HTTPS! :star_struck:

But I still get the same 521 error when trying to login to my dashboard. I can’t access my dashboard via bluehost either. What should I do now?
