Error 1014, even though I'm the owner of the domain

What is the name of the domain?

meijinversus.com

What is the error number?

#1014

What is the error message?

Cross-User Banned

What is the issue you’re encountering

Self-explanatory. I try to use a CNAME in “wiki”, and when I type wiki.meijinversus.com, I get the aforementioned error.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

  • Setting the proxy status to “DNS Only”
  • Refreshing said DNS entry
  • Disable Cloudflare on site
  • Verifying ownership of the domain (I do own it).

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

I don’t know

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

Owning a domain and somehow getting this error, I guess?

Error 1014 means that the target of your CNAME is in a different Cloudflare account, so you cannot CNAME to it unless the target using Cloudflare for SaaS.

but it’s not in another account???

As far as I am concerned, I am literally the only one who got this domain name, so clearly Cloudflare got it all mixed up?

Are meijinversus.com and miraheze.org both in your Cloudflare account?

Absolutely not.

miraheze.org is meant to just be content as per the guidelines of the wikifarm, as I only own meijinversus.com

this is because I want to have a custom domain in accordance with the rules of said wiki, though I can’t accomplish that if Cloudflare somehow believe I have an Error 1014 in some way, unless I miss something beyond my scope

TL:DR I own a single domain, it’s linked to curated content, I can’t let the staff of said wikifarm finalise the linking because of this error.

Then it is as I and the error page told you. You cannot CNAME to a target that is proxied in another Cloudflare account if it is not using Cloudflare for SaaS. And meijinversus.miraheze.org is using the Cloudflare proxy.

If they are using Cloudlfare for SaaS, they need to configure for your hostname at their end.

I see…
I will then try to contact the technicians at Miraheze to see how they can let me potentially fix this, since the situation may be on their end after all.

Thanks for the help!
