Error 1014 CNAME Cross-User Banned for certain urls

Hope you are doing well!

I’ve been back and forth with my hosting provider regarding this. The latest conversation is as follow:

When you add your domain with us, you are pointing to a subdomain, in this case, the www subdomain.

When your subdomain is secured and connected, the https is added to this subdomain only.

Your root domain is not added with us, there is only a redirection from your root domain to your www subdomain.

Long story short, there are 8 urls we are testing, and numbeer 5 ande 6 are giving us the 1014 error:

  1. http://stakeout.ai
  2. https://stakeout.ai
  3. http://www.stakeout.ai
  4. https://www.stakeout.ai
  5. http://stakeout.ai/sign
  6. https://stakeout.ai/sign
  7. http://www.stakeout.ai/sign
  8. https://www.stakeout.ai/sign

We suspect the solution to getting all 8 urls working is the setting for the page rules. Currently, we have this enabled:

www.stakeout.ai/* Forwarding URL (Status Code: 301 - Permanent Redirect, Url: https://stakeout.ai/$1)

there are currently two cname records:

#1 name:
stakeout.ai
target:
www.stakeout.ai

#2 name:
www
target:
my host domain

Does anyone have ideas on how we can get all 8 urls to work?

Thank you so much for your help!

That should be:

stakeout.ai/* Forwarding URL (Status Code: 301 - Permanent Redirect, Url: https://www.stakeout.ai/$1)

Also, replace your dns record for stakeout.ai with a proxied AAAA record with target 100::

stakeout.ai/* Forwarding URL (Status Code: 301 - Permanent Redirect, Url: https://www.stakeout.ai/$1)

this worked!!

thank you so so so much!

sorry, what’s the advantage of this?

replace your dns record for stakeout.ai with a proxied AAAA record with target 100::

It makes sure that your settings apply, not those of your hosting provider.

The reason that 1&2 were working was that your host had a rule to redirect those to the www subdomain, but I guess without the /* part.
