Error 1000 when pointing to host IP address

My Hosting provider told me this: “yourdomain dot com is directing traffic to an old IP address. To fix that, please log in to the DNS provider associated with this domain. Then redirect your A record to point to this IP: IP NUMBER.” But when I do I get error 1000 DNS points to prohibited IP

Use a different IP. It sounds like your host did not give you the correct IP as error 1000 indicates you are using a Cloudflare IP.
