Getting this error when trying to access the website
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?
I’m trying to contact original website developer, but so far with no success. I have transferred .co.uk domain with a working website from Godaddy, which already had Cloudflare nameservers (not sure where the site is hosted). When creating a domain on Cloudflare it has asked me to update nameservers to different Cloudflare set (as usual). However after copying DNS zone and transferring the domain I’m getting 1000 error now, so am I right to assume that those IP addresses that were copied in the DNS zone are tied to the old nameservers, and the only way for me to resolve this is to transfer the domain name away from Cloudflare and restore the old nameservers (provided I can’t contact the developer)
I assume that means you don’t have access to the old Cloudflare account?
The automatic DNS import doesn’t work for domains that are already proxied by Cloudflare. It imports the Cloudflare IPs instead of the host’s real IP addresses.
If you can’t figure out where the site is hosted, this would indeed be your best bet for now. From the moment you changed the nameservers, you have 7 days to change the nameservers back before the zone is deleted from the previous nameservers, so you can’t wait too long.
That is correct, I do not have access to the Cloudflare account with original DNS zone and website’s real IP address. Thank you for the explanation, that was really helpful. Very useful information about 7 days zone deletion timeframe.
