Users in California are complaining that my website doesn’t load in any of the browsers they try. It works fine if they VPN to Seattle or New York. ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAIL usually means the content encoding doesn’t match the Content-Encoding header - my pages are brotli-compressed and served with Content-Encoding: br

Nothing has changed, and the site works fine from other regions. The page fails to load only in California.

testing app.destinyitemmanager.com via nordvpn from san francisco sees the failure.

nordvpn to los angeles, seattle, salt lake city: no issue. it seems to be localized around san francisco.

Having this issue here in the SF Bay Area. Please fix it! I spent hours troubleshooting this thinking it was my mac : (

I can confirm this. Testing connections in different regions, it seems that only SJC/SFO are affected. Other regions do not have any problem loading like Los Angeles, Phoenix, Denver, Seattle, and Salt Lake City. A connection within the San Francisco Bay Area, CA results in the decoding error.
