Enabling CloudFlare on site with existing SSL & Google Mail

Hi All,

I will be enabling CloudFlare for the first time and I want to make sure I don’t break anything.

I currently have a domain on a VPS with DreamHost. The site currently has a Comodo SSL certificate and we are using Google for our inboxes. Beyond changing our DNS nameservers to point to CloudFlare’s are there any other changes that need to be made? Can I use my existing SSL certificate or will I need to order a new one? How can I ensure end-to-end encryption between the user and CF, and CF to Dreamhost?

Any help would be greatly appreciated - thank you!

The existing certificate should just work fine.

Make sure your SSL mode is always “Full strict”, you renew your server certificate whenever necessary, and “Always Use HTTPS” is enabled on Cloudflare.

This will most likely stay out of the Cloudflare bubble anyhow, right?
