Emails are coming back problem with Name server

Hi!

All emails that my team is sending are coming back. We are receiving this message:

“Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups”

We contacted our host email provider, GoDaddy, and we were told the problem was “invalid DNS entries”.
The bigger problem is that they (GoDaddy) can not do anything because our nameservers are with Cloudflare: serenity(dot)ns(dot)Cloudflare(dot)com vick(dot)ns(dot)Cloudflare(dot)com

They sent a step-by-step to but I have no idea how to execute it.

PLEASE HELP WE NEED TO ANSWER OUR CLIENTS

First thing you need to do is figure out what the DNS settings that you need from GoDaddy. Then go to the DNS section and create the records that you need. Then it should all work.

Thank you very much!

Go Daddy told me to do this* (But I have no idea how  ):

*Cloudflare doesn’t allow links so I’m tying “(dot)” every time there is “.”

"Log on to your hosting provider or third-party domain name system manager (usually the same place you bought your domain)

Locate the CNAMEs and set the following:

Name Target
autodiscover autodiscover(dot)outlook(dot)com
sip sipdir(dot)online(dot)lync(dot)com
lyncdiscover webdir(dot)online(dot)lync(dot)com
email email(dot)secureserver(dot)net
msoid clientconfig(dot)microsoftonline-p(dot)net

Locate the MXX and set the following:

Host Priority Target
@ 0 fashinnovation-nyc(dot)mail(dot)protection(dot)outlook(dot)com

Locate the SRV and set the following:

Port Protocol Name Service Priority Weight Target
443 _tls @ _sip 100 1 sipdir(dot)online(dot)lync(dot)com
5061 _tcp @ _sipfederationtls 100 1 sipfed(dot)online(dot)lync(dot)com

Locate the TXTT and set the following:

Name TXTT Value
@ NETORGFT4178764(dot)onmicrosoft(dot)
@ v=spf1 include:secureserver(dot)net(dot)all

Thank you,

The thing is… according to Cloudflare support I need to do this first:

Hi there,
My name is Manuel Almeida and I will be looking into this ticket for you.
We’re sorry to read that you’re experiencing difficulties.

After checking your account I could see that the zone fashinnovation.nyc is still pending, and needs name server updates.

This means you are not using Cloudflare yet, and Cloudflare is not causing the issue you are experiencing with your email.

Regarding your email issue, I would recommend you to contact you email provider, since it seems to be a mail server issue.

If you would like to use Cloudflare, please change your name servers serenity.ns.cloudflare.com and vick.ns.cloudflare.com to uriah.ns.cloudflare.com and walk.ns.cloudflare.com, but please keep in mind that this is not related with the issue you are experiencing with your email.

I hope this helps

In case you have any further questions, we’d suggest raising them in [Cloudflare Community], so other users can share their experience with you.

Best regards,
Manuel

I’m afraid changing namesevers my website will go down.

Any recommendations? before updating my DNS info

Hi there,

Thaks for reaching out to Cloudflare community.
I have replied to your ticket #2557566:

I see you were able to get it sorted as you are now proxying traffic through Cloudflare:

Regarding your email configuration, please check with your email service provider to determine the correct record values for your mail service. Also, you could use one of these third-party record validators for further clues:

Once you know what records need to be added, you can do these via the Cloudflare DNS settings as indicated above by @Cyb3r-Jak3

Please let us know if you have any further questions or issues by replying to this topic.

Hi @headinthecloud !

Are you 100% sure If I change the name servers, the website will not go down?

Translating the image below:

“Changing name servers is risky and your website can disappear.”

Before changing name servers and adding records via the Cloudflare DNS settings, this is my only concern.

@pedro5 When you update the nameservers, site will be down upto the immediate propagation. However, the duration may vary though not so long! but could be!
