Email still not working after updating MX records

I created a new email address with my host that just forwards to my personal email. Per the hosts instructions I created two new MX records on Cloudflare that point to the hosts servers. I also removed the existing MX record on Cloudflare, however I’m still not receiving email. Appreciate any support.

What is the domain?

apbitner.com

There are 2 MX records for mailchannels if those are what you are expecting to see.

If you are using mail.apbitner.com in your mail client for sending and receiving mail, that needs to be set to “DNS only” instead of proxied. Also likely for autoconfig and autodiscover if you are using those.

Beyond that, check with your mail provider.

Yes those are the 2 new MX records I added. I’m not using a mail client because I just set up email forwarding for the new email address.

So to confirm are you recommending I change the following from Proxied to DNS only?

  • A autoconfig
  • A autodiscover
  • CNAME mail

In addition to what you just mentioned, if your mail CNAME points to a proxied hostname, you will need to switch the CNAME out for an A (or AAAA) record that is :grey: DNS Only.
