I would like to know if it is mandatory to add Email routing MX and TXT records, to be able to send and receive email on my domain [email protected] because I do not want to rely on cloudflare for email I’m using it for other services.
No, it’s not. It’s only needed if you want to use Cloudflare to RECEIVE incoming emails and you don’t want to SEND emails from your domain.
If you’re using some other email provider to send and receive emails, simply add that provider’s DNS records and ignore/disable the Cloudflare Email Routing feature.
Good luck!
Thanks for replying I have indeed added these two record on my cloudflare
Type : A
name : mail
Ipv4 address : mydomain
Type : MX
name : @
Mail server : mail.mydomain. com
Priority : 0
But my issue here I’m not able to send or receive from Gmail
I’m able to send back and forth to Hotmail outlook but not from Google
And when checking logs track delivery it says
ECDHE-ECDSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256:128 CV=yes: SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data: 550-5.7.25 [162.240.35.109] The IP address sending this message does not have a\n550-5.7.25 PTR record setup, or the corresponding forward DNS entry does not\n550-5.7.25 point to the sending IP. As a policy, Gmail does not accept messages\n550-5.7.25 from IPs with missing PTR records.
** Address not found **
Your message wasn’t delivered to [email protected] because the address couldn’t be found, or is unable to receive mail.
The response from the remote server was:
550 5.1.1 Address does not exist. Xst6l5Rw9nUR
Obviously I contacted my domain host and they did reset my config so at this point I’m not sure where issue comes from this started right after I’ve migrated to cloudflare DNS
