[email protected] URLs not working: You must enable Javascript

Site: https://www.thekvan.co/

(this is a Google Sites page)

The email address both in a simple mailto and the button is obfuscated - yay, less spam  - but doesn’t actually get decoded when it’s clicked on - nay, no email :sob:.

Clicking the mailto URL results in the following page

Email Protection

You are unable to access this email address thekvan.co

The website from which you got to this page is protected by Cloudflare. Email addresses on that page have been hidden in order to keep them from being accessed by malicious bots. You must enable Javascript in your browser in order to decode the e-mail address .

Javascript is enabled, I get the same result in current versions of Chrome, Firefox and Safari on macOS and Chrome on Android.

Cloudflare Diagnostic Center doesn’t show any relevant issues (just DNSSEC).

This appears to have come up before ([email protected] is shown for every email-adress), with a “solution” of “disable the feature”. I did temporarily disable it, and indeed the mailto addresses work as expected.

Any way around this other than disabling the feature?
