Cloudflare’s Email Routing service simply receives and forwards emails to your existing email account. It has no mailboxes to store messages and it has no SMTP account to send messages from. This is why there’s no password: because there’s nothing to log in to.

In short, while Cloudflare’s Email Routing has its place, it is not a complete email solution, and you simply cannot use it as you intend to.

There are all sorts of tricks involving using a 3rd-party SMTP provider to handle outgoing emails from Gmail while using Cloudflare Email Routing to receive and forward emails to the Gmail address.

But if sending and receiving emails with your domain is important to your business, spend the $5 or so a month to get a professional email service from the likes of Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho Mail, and similar business email providers out there.

Good luck!
