Edge certificate stuck in verification pending state for more than 24 hours. Re-enabling Universal SSL doesn't help either

When you tested your domain using the Cloudflare Diagnostic Center, what were the results?

Describe the issue you are having:
Edge certificate stuck in verification pending state for more than 24 hours. Re-enabling Universal SSL doesn’t help either.

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

1. Disable Universal SSL, waited more than 5 minutes, then re-enabling it. Doesn’t help.
2. Setup www. subdomain and using Cloudflare proxy. Doesn’t help

Was the site working with SSL prior to adding it to Cloudflare?
It’s a new site. So no.

I still have the same problem in 3 domains. I tried all the solutions above and the certificates are still in pending verification. It seems the only way to solve this problem is remove and add again the domain.

Finally figured out the issue. It’s DNSSEC! Somehow Cloudflare failed to register the DS record for my domain and DNSSEC failed. Which hindered the verification process for the edge certificate.

Solution for me is to cancel the DNSSEC enablement process, and re-enabled Universal SSL. Now the Edge Certificate is successfully issued!
