Don't receive important emails

Some entry emails get blocked. A couple of them are clearly spam but there also emails where i know that they are not spam (e.g. from domains of customers that i know personally). I want the spam filter for the email disabeld in order to receive ALL the emails, even if they are spam.

Hi,

you have no influence on which emails are rejected and which you receive.

If you are unhappy with the current state, I recommend you find and email service that better fits your needs.

Hi there,

Checking the rejected reason on your Cloudflare dashboard:

Rejected reason:
Unknown error: transient error (421): 4.7.0 [x.x.x.x] Gmail has detected that this message is4.7.0 suspicious due to the very low reputation of the sending domain. To4.7.0 best protect our users from spam, the message has been blocked. For4.7.0 more information, go to4.7.0 (…)

Basically Gmail is rejecting your message, not Cloudflare.

Here’s a topic with a similar issue:

The alternative here is using MX and configuring POP/IMAP instead of forwarding.

Take care.

Thank you for your answer. I am not an expert with email forwarding. MX is forwarding, right? What would be the difference if I confugure POP?

Hi Laudian, thank you for your answer. How can I find another email service? In my understanding the emails are connected to my domain, which is on cloudflare, and cloudflare does not offer an email hosting service, so only the option of routing does remain. Or am I wrong?

You can use any email service you want. The email service will tell you what DNS records to create on Cloudflare to make it work.

Email Routing is something I would only ever recommend if you have full control of the receiving mail server, and in that case there’s probably not much sense in using Email Routing in the first place.

No, MX is not forwarding. It means that you get an Email service, and then you can configure Gmail to retrieve the emails from that service’s inbox via POP. It essentially means Google makes a copy of all your emails, but the original remains with your email service.

So, for example, I can use fastmail as an email hosting service?

Yes, you can.

They have 2 options for using external domains.
The first is changing your nameservers, which is not supported by Cloudflare.
The second option is to create a number of DNS records in your Cloudflare Dashboard, which you would have to use.

@mcorreia I think GMail is rejecting a lot of forwarded emails from Cloudflare.
The message it’s passing back is saying that the problematic IP address that has a low reputation is 104.30.10.20, which is a Cloudflare IP.

I think this is going to be happening to almost everyone using Cloudflare forwarding to GMail, and I suspect that’s a bunch of people.

same issue here, since a few days gmail seems to bounce a lot
