Don’t able to add a record in cloudflare

Hi, i recently moved from hostinger to cloudways and my domain was pointing to cloudflare.
To connect domin to cloudways i needto add a record withe the followinf You can add/create “A” Record in your DNS manager by following the pattern below:

Type : A

Host : @

Value : (Cloudways Server IP)

TTL : Auto

When ever i add this in cloudflare records. I get the following error “A CNAME record with this host is already exist”

Can anyone here please help me to solve this issue

Thanks and regards,

Greetings,

Welcome to the Cloudflare Community!

I am sorry you are experiencing an issue, but we are here to help.

It seems like a CNAME type record already exists.

If you see the error “An A, AAAA or CNAME record already exists with that host. (Code: 81053)”, it means either the CNAME record you are trying to add is for SSL verification for a partial setup and the zone is on a FULL setup; there is no need to add the CNAME record for SSL verification. Or, it means a DNS record with the same name already exists and needs to be deleted before you add a new record.

Kindly, review and find it under the DNS tab of Cloudflare dashboard for your domain name, therefore remove it.

Next, add a new A type record and point it to Cloudways Server IP. Make sure it’s proxied and set to :orange:.

In case if needed, here are the instructions:

Hopefully, your domain name (including www and other needed hostnames) are covered and using valid SSL certificate:

May I ask what SSL option have you got selected under the SSL/TLS tab at Cloudflare dashboard for your domain ( Flexible, Full, Full Strict … )?
