My domain loveletter2life.com was registered with Cloudflare but was removed from my account after not updating the nameservers in time. When I try to re-add the domain, I get an error saying it’s “already owned,” even though the domain is still listed under my account. The nameservers currently assigned to the domain are no longer valid, which is preventing me from reconfiguring the zone.
What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?
I’ve tried re-adding the domain to my Cloudflare account multiple times, but I get the error that the domain is already owned.
I’ve submitted a support ticket almost a week ago, but I have not received a response.
I’ve confirmed through an ICANN lookup that the domain is still registered under my Cloudflare account, and the nameservers are outdated.
What feature, service or problem is this related to?
DNS records
What are the steps to reproduce the issue?
Try to re-add a domain to Cloudflare that was previously removed from the account.
Receive the error that the domain is “already owned.”
Cannot update or configure the DNS zone due to outdated nameservers.
You need to log in and use the account where the domain registration is held and where the zone is active. You may have bought the domain using an iCloud or Google login.
In my audit log, I have the zone_name to be set up as loveletter2life.com
on February 3rd in that account (Action titled Network change setting). I’m
not sure I understand. What am I supposed to do to reinstate my domain?
As above, you are not in the Cloudflare account where the domain is active. As the domain is with Cloudflare Registrar, you need to locate and log in to that account.
Try logging out of the dashboard and selecting “Forgot your password” to see if you can locate the account with that.
I already tried that. Everything leads to that account. It’ the account
with all of the audit logs, it’s the email I received my
domain congratulations and where I received the notification once it got
deleted. It’s not allowing me to reinstate it
You added to your account but it was never active. securitytrails.com shows it became active with the current nameservers prior to you adding it to your account.
