I am trying to redirect an old site. I went to do a ‘change of address’ in Google Search Console but when I do a validation check, it is failing. Instead of redirecting to the new address, it is adding a string of 5 random characters to the old URL.
The page rule setup in my Cloudflare is:
*.alldentalprodx.com/* which redirects (permanent 301) to https://adprodx.com
If I type in “http://alldentalprodx.com” into my browser, I get something like this:
http://alldentalprodx.com/NWifZ (though those last 5 characters seem randomly generated)
If I do it using ‘www’ in front, it redirects properly…
When I ‘Fetch as google’ in my Search Console, this is the downloaded HTTP response:
HTTP/1.1 302 Found Date: Wed, 02 May 2018 21:47:35 GMT Transfer-Encoding: chunked Connection: keep-alive Set-Cookie: __cfduid=d8c53d84a069762a6ddd5e7226950dc691525297655; expires=Thu, 02-May-19 21:47:35 GMT; path=/; domain=.alldentalprodx.com; HttpOnly Pragma: no-cache cache-control: no-cache Location: /NWifZ/ Expect-CT: max-age=604800, report-uri="https://report-uri.cloudflare.com/cdn-cgi/beacon/expect-ct" Server: cloudflare CF-RAY: 414dafeb9ab6554c-ORD
GoDaddy is the site and Registrar so I don’t know if it is a problem on their end?
