What is the issue you’re encountering

Dear administrator, hello! First of all, thank you to CLOUDFLARE for providing us with a professional and free service, because your dedication makes the world such a good place. Today I want to ask about the hosting of domain names. CLOUDFLARE is known to be a good helper to defend against website attacks, and as you can see, I am a website green chick and just getting started with website business. I currently register a free cloud-ip.biz subdomain with CLOUDNS.NET to connect to my project, but when I try to tie it to CLOUDFLARE’s platform, unfortunately something goes wrong. The system shows that subdomain binding is not supported, but I had a subdomain registered by CLOUDNS.NET successfully bound to CLOUDFLARE before, so I would like to ask, is the current policy for binding some subdomains changed? Or is there something wrong with my operation? Hope to get your reply! Thanks again to you and CLOUDFLARE and have a great day

What steps have you taken to resolve the issue?

Unsolved binding domain name matter, looking forward to getting a reply

What feature, service or problem is this related to?

Nameservers

What are the steps to reproduce the issue?

The problem recurred when the requested domain name was tied to CLOUDFLARE

Hello,

To further investigate, can you provide me a screenshot of the error message ?

For your information, if you would like to use a subdomain setup, you can manage the Cloudflare configurations for one or more subdomains separately from those associated with your apex domain. This would need an Enterprise account. This is different from simply creating a subdomain for a site you already have in Cloudflare.

If you do not need separate Cloudflare configuration for your subdomain, refer to Create a subdomain record.

Thank you

Hello, my friend! I’m glad to receive your reply. Perhaps my initial description was not clear. What I meant was that I obtained two second-level domains from a free domain provider, one of which is domain1.cloudns.ph, and the other is domain2.cloud-ip.biz. I do not own the domains cloudns.ph and cloud-ip.biz. Unfortunately, domain1.cloudns.ph can be connected to Cloudflare, while domain2.cloud-ip.biz cannot. That’s why I asked the question. However, after reading carefully the similar questions of other users in the forum, I understood that Cloudflare can bind domains based on a list on GitHub, and that cloudns.ph is on the list and is considered a top-level domain (similar to .com or .net), while cloud-ip.biz is only a second-level domain, or a subdomain. Although it’s unfortunate, it’s a fact that must be accepted. Perhaps in the future, cloud-ip.biz may also be considered a top-level domain. Finally, thank you for your reply, and have a great day!

cloud-ip.biz appears to be a new domain for Cloudns and hasn’t yet been published in the Public Suffix List which is used by Cloudflare to allow you to add a subdomain of it.
https://publicsuffix.org/list/

You will have to wait for Cloudns to add the site, then Cloudflare to deploy the updated list.

Note that a free Cloudns account does not let you change the SOA for your subdomain and so delegations from Cloudns don’t work properly. You may find you can add your site to Cloudflare later, but the DNS won’t delegate to Cloudflare.

Oh, I see! I understand now, thank you very much, friend. Perhaps that’s why the domain name that I successfully bound to CF used to work sometimes but not others. In that case, I’ll register some domain names like .com or .net myself. Thank you again for your reply, thank you!
